Fabric & Care
Fabric & Care
Every piece from Nala Luna is made to be lived in — soft against the skin, gentle on the senses, and lovely for years to come. With a little tenderness, your clothing will stay as dreamy as the day it arrived. Here is our gentle guide to caring for each of our fabrics.
Cotton
Our breathable cottons are wonderfully easy to love. They soften beautifully with each wash and are perfect for everyday wear.
- Machine wash cool to warm on a gentle cycle with like colours.
- Use a mild detergent and skip the fabric softener, which can dull cotton's natural softness over time.
- Tumble dry low or, for the kindest finish, lay flat or hang to dry.
- Warm iron if needed while slightly damp to smooth away creases.
Poplin
Crisp yet featherlight, poplin has a smooth, cool handfeel that we adore. A gentle touch keeps its lovely structure intact.
- Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle, turning garments inside out to protect the weave.
- Wash with similar colours and avoid overloading the machine.
- Hang to dry or tumble dry low to help preserve poplin's clean drape.
- Iron on a medium setting while damp for that signature crisp finish.
Satin & Silk-Feel
Our satin and silk-feel pieces are the height of softness — cool, fluid and gloriously smooth. They ask for just a little extra care to keep their delicate sheen.
- Hand wash in cool water, or machine wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh laundry bag.
- Use a gentle detergent and never wring or twist; instead, press excess water out softly.
- Always air dry away from direct heat and sunlight, which can fade the fabric.
- Avoid tumble drying. If ironing, use the lowest setting and place a cloth between the iron and fabric.
Flannel
Cosy, brushed and utterly comforting, flannel is made for slow mornings and quiet nights. A gentle wash keeps it plush and warm.
- Machine wash cool to warm on a gentle cycle with like colours.
- Use a mild detergent and avoid softeners, which can flatten flannel's soft nap.
- Tumble dry low and remove promptly to keep the fibres fluffy and reduce creasing.
- A cool iron may be used if needed, though flannel rarely calls for it.
Storing Your clothing
A little care between wears helps your pieces stay fresh and beautiful.
- Make sure garments are completely dry before storing to keep them sweet-smelling.
- Fold cotton, poplin and flannel neatly in a cool, dry drawer away from direct sunlight.
- Hang or gently fold satin and silk-feel pieces to preserve their smooth finish.
- Tuck a lavender sachet alongside your clothing for a soft, restful scent.
A Few Gentle Reminders
- Always check the care label sewn into your garment, as it takes precedence.
- Wash new pieces before their first wear to enjoy them at their softest.
- Treat any little marks promptly, and avoid harsh bleaches to protect colour and fibre.
